Nutrient nitrogen N (total) — Indirect emissions (N2O that leaches) over time
- Belarus
- Western Africa
How they compare
Western Africa currently reports 4.28 kt against 2.28 kt in Belarus, a difference of 2 kt.
That makes Western Africa's figure about 1.9 times Belarus's.
The two have swapped places 4 times across 34 shared years of data; in 1992 it was Western Africa ahead.
Belarus ranks 29th and Western Africa ranks 29th of 199 countries.
Across the 6 decades both report, Belarus averaged higher in 1 and Western Africa in 5.

About this data
The FAOSTAT domain on Emissions from Crops provides estimates of emissions associated with crop processes, namely 1) crop residues, 2) burning of crop residues, and 3) rice cultivation and the application of nitrogen (N) fertilizers, including mineral and chemical fertilizers, to soils. Estimates are computed at Tier 1 following the 2006 IPCC Guidelines for National greenhouse gas (GHG) Inventories (IPCC, 2006).
