OECD vs World: Nutrient nitrogen N (total) — Indirect emissions (N2O that leaches)
Nutrient nitrogen N (total) — Indirect emissions (N2O that leaches) over time
- OECD
- World
How they compare
World currently reports 480.55 kt against 104.04 kt in OECD, a difference of 376.51 kt.
That makes World's figure about 4.6 times OECD's.
Across all 65 years both countries report, World has been ahead every year.
OECD ranks 3rd and World ranks 1st of 199 countries.
World has averaged higher in every one of the 9 decades both report.

About this data
The FAOSTAT domain on Emissions from Crops provides estimates of emissions associated with crop processes, namely 1) crop residues, 2) burning of crop residues, and 3) rice cultivation and the application of nitrogen (N) fertilizers, including mineral and chemical fertilizers, to soils. Estimates are computed at Tier 1 following the 2006 IPCC Guidelines for National greenhouse gas (GHG) Inventories (IPCC, 2006).
