Pakistan vs USSR: Nutrient nitrogen N (total) — Indirect emissions (N2O that leaches)
Nutrient nitrogen N (total) — Indirect emissions (N2O that leaches) over time
- Pakistan
- USSR
How they compare
USSR currently reports 27.5 kt against 22.34 kt in Pakistan, a difference of 5.16 kt.
That makes USSR's figure about 1.2 times Pakistan's.
Across all 31 years both countries report, USSR has been ahead every year.
Pakistan ranks 7th and USSR ranks 6th of 199 countries.
USSR has averaged higher in every one of the 4 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Pakistan | USSR | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1960s | 0.4184 kt | 7.99 kt | 7.57 kt | USSR |
| 1970s | 1.65 kt | 23.18 kt | 21.53 kt | USSR |
| 1980s | 3.89 kt | 36.06 kt | 32.16 kt | USSR |
| 1990s | 5.19 kt | 29.2 kt | 24.01 kt | USSR |
Averages of every year both report within each decade.

About this data
The FAOSTAT domain on Emissions from Crops provides estimates of emissions associated with crop processes, namely 1) crop residues, 2) burning of crop residues, and 3) rice cultivation and the application of nitrogen (N) fertilizers, including mineral and chemical fertilizers, to soils. Estimates are computed at Tier 1 following the 2006 IPCC Guidelines for National greenhouse gas (GHG) Inventories (IPCC, 2006).
