Southern Africa vs Ukraine: Nutrient nitrogen N (total) — Indirect emissions (N2O that leaches)
Nutrient nitrogen N (total) — Indirect emissions (N2O that leaches) over time
- Southern Africa
- Ukraine
How they compare
Southern Africa currently reports 2.62 kt against 2.43 kt in Ukraine, a difference of 0.19 kt.
That makes Southern Africa's figure about 1.1 times Ukraine's.
The two have swapped places 5 times across 34 shared years of data; in 1992 it was Ukraine ahead.
Southern Africa ranks 30th and Ukraine ranks 27th of 33 groups.
Across the 6 decades both report, Southern Africa averaged higher in 1 and Ukraine in 5.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Southern Africa | Ukraine | Difference | Ahead |

About this data
The FAOSTAT domain on Emissions from Crops provides estimates of emissions associated with crop processes, namely 1) crop residues, 2) burning of crop residues, and 3) rice cultivation and the application of nitrogen (N) fertilizers, including mineral and chemical fertilizers, to soils. Estimates are computed at Tier 1 following the 2006 IPCC Guidelines for National greenhouse gas (GHG) Inventories (IPCC, 2006).
