Australia vs Russian Federation: Nutrient nitrogen N (total) — Indirect emissions (N2O that)
Nutrient nitrogen N (total) — Indirect emissions (N2O that) over time
- Australia
- Russian Federation
How they compare
Russian Federation currently reports 2.52 kt against 2.04 kt in Australia, a difference of 0.48 kt.
That makes Russian Federation's figure about 1.2 times Australia's.
The two have swapped places 6 times across 34 shared years of data; in 1992 it was Russian Federation ahead.
Australia ranks 19th and Russian Federation ranks 16th of 199 countries.
Russian Federation has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Australia | Russian Federation | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1990s | 1.19 kt | 2.02 kt | 0.8376 kt | Russian Federation |
| 2000s | 1.46 kt | 1.56 kt | 0.0976 kt | Russian Federation |

About this data
The FAOSTAT domain on Emissions from Crops provides estimates of emissions associated with crop processes, namely 1) crop residues, 2) burning of crop residues, and 3) rice cultivation and the application of nitrogen (N) fertilizers, including mineral and chemical fertilizers, to soils. Estimates are computed at Tier 1 following the 2006 IPCC Guidelines for National greenhouse gas (GHG) Inventories (IPCC, 2006).
