Melanesia vs Middle Africa: Nutrient nitrogen N (total) — Indirect emissions (N2O that)
Nutrient nitrogen N (total) — Indirect emissions (N2O that) over time
- Melanesia
- Middle Africa
How they compare
Middle Africa currently reports 0.2703 kt against 0.0434 kt in Melanesia, a difference of 0.2269 kt.
That makes Middle Africa's figure about 6.2 times Melanesia's.
The two have swapped places 2 times across 65 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Middle Africa ahead.
Melanesia ranks 13th and Middle Africa ranks 11th of 20 countries.
Middle Africa has averaged higher in every one of the 9 decades both report.

About this data
The FAOSTAT domain on Emissions from Crops provides estimates of emissions associated with crop processes, namely 1) crop residues, 2) burning of crop residues, and 3) rice cultivation and the application of nitrogen (N) fertilizers, including mineral and chemical fertilizers, to soils. Estimates are computed at Tier 1 following the 2006 IPCC Guidelines for National greenhouse gas (GHG) Inventories (IPCC, 2006).
