Sub-Saharan Africa vs Viet Nam: Nutrient nitrogen N: Indirect emissions (N2O) … Indirect volatilises
Nutrient nitrogen N: Indirect emissions (N2O) … Indirect volatilises over time
- Sub-Saharan Africa
- Viet Nam
How they compare
Sub-Saharan Africa currently reports 6.71 kt against 2.13 kt in Viet Nam, a difference of 4.58 kt.
That makes Sub-Saharan Africa's figure about 3.1 times Viet Nam's.
The two have swapped places 8 times across 65 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Sub-Saharan Africa ahead.
Sub-Saharan Africa ranks 21st and Viet Nam ranks 21st of 34 groups.
Across the 9 decades both report, Sub-Saharan Africa averaged higher in 8 and Viet Nam in 1.

About this data
The FAOSTAT domain on Emissions from Crops provides estimates of emissions associated with crop processes, namely 1) crop residues, 2) burning of crop residues, and 3) rice cultivation and the application of nitrogen (N) fertilizers, including mineral and chemical fertilizers, to soils. Estimates are computed at Tier 1 following the 2006 IPCC Guidelines for National greenhouse gas (GHG) Inventories (IPCC, 2006).
