Thailand vs Viet Nam: Nutrient nitrogen N: Indirect emissions (N2O) … Indirect volatilises
Nutrient nitrogen N: Indirect emissions (N2O) … Indirect volatilises over time
- Thailand
- Viet Nam
How they compare
Thailand currently reports 2.48 kt against 2.13 kt in Viet Nam, a difference of 0.35 kt.
That makes Thailand's figure about 1.2 times Viet Nam's.
The two have swapped places 17 times across 65 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Viet Nam ahead.
Thailand ranks 19th and Viet Nam ranks 21st of 218 countries.
Across the 9 decades both report, Thailand averaged higher in 4 and Viet Nam in 5.

About this data
The FAOSTAT domain on Emissions from Crops provides estimates of emissions associated with crop processes, namely 1) crop residues, 2) burning of crop residues, and 3) rice cultivation and the application of nitrogen (N) fertilizers, including mineral and chemical fertilizers, to soils. Estimates are computed at Tier 1 following the 2006 IPCC Guidelines for National greenhouse gas (GHG) Inventories (IPCC, 2006).
